Fact Sheet

Foliarfert.com 2004 Ltd 'HI-CAL' Liquid Lime
Active Ingredients: HI-CAL is an 8% w/w liquid
calcium.
Purpose: HI-CAL is designed to overcome the problems so often
associated with 'liquid lime' applications, where blockages are a headache and constant
agitation of sometimes abrasive materials wears out pumps.
It is guaranteed never to block spray nozzles and does not require constant agitation,
because it is a completely water soluble 100% calcium compound and a true
solution.
Advantages/Benefits:
- Relative solubility has been identified as a major factor in calcium performance.
- More easily absorbed by leaves as a result of its organic encapsulation.
- It is immediately available to the leaf and is readily absorbed by the root system
- Foliar applying specially formulated liquid calcium concentrate is both the most
effective and least expensive means of delivering an adequate supply of calcium to plants.
- Calcium is critical in plant cell division and is regarded as one of the most needed
elements.
- Plant available calcium determines the uptake of all other nutrients into the plant.
- Mineral uptake is calcium dependent.
- You will usually find an increase in all mineral levels in a plant following the
correction of low calcium, by soluble calcium.
- When available Calcium is limited, so are yields.
- State-of-the-art technology for delivering Calcium with maximum bioavailability,
tolerability and safety.
Hints:
- The importance of Calcium in any fertility program plays a great and vital role.
- The addition of Calcium with Nitrogen to small grains results in increased N absorption,
grain yield, tiller foundation, dry matter, and grain weight per unit of dry matter.
- Calcium increases nitrogen absorption, leading to increased tillering, increased weight
per head of grain produced and consequently, higher yields.
- Always mix thoroughly and apply in sufficient water for good coverage
- The use of a quality wetting agent, will prevent formation of droplets on the leaves.
